The MODIS fire products
نویسندگان
چکیده
Fire products are now available from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) including the only current global daily active fire product. This paper describes the algorithm, the products and the associated validation activities. High-resolution ASTER data, which are acquired simultaneously with MODIS, provide a unique opportunity for MODIS validation. Results are presented from a preliminary active fire validation study in Africa. The prototype MODIS burned area product is described, and an example is given for southern Africa of how this product can be used in modeling pyrogenic emissions. The MODIS Fire Rapid Response System and a webbased mapping system for enhanced distribution are described and the next steps for the MODIS fire products are outlined. D 2002 Elsevier Science Inc. Real-time detection of wildlife using NOAA/AVHRR data Study area :(Kayamaki Wildlife Refuge)
Forest fire in recent years has paid great attention to climate change and ecosystems. Remote sensing is a quick and inexpensive way to detect and monitor forest fires on a large scale. The purpose of this study was to identify forest and rangeland fire hazards using NOAA / AVHRR in Kayamaki Wildlife Refuge. For the purpose of this study, the history of the fire-burns occurred in MODIS products...

Forest fire is one of the important problems in Iran which is caused by different factors such as human and natural factors. One of these factors is climate conditions that can be created by heat wave and special circulation of atmospheric phenomena. Occurrence of forest fire in north of Iran have different impacts on environment such as destruction of natural. According to the position of Iran...
متن کاملMODIS Hotspot Validation over Thailand
To ensure remote sensing MODIS hotspot (also known as active fire products or hotspots) quality and precision in forest fire control and management in Thailand, an increased level of confidence is needed. Accuracy assessment of MODIS hotspots utilizing field survey data validation is described. A quantitative evaluation of MODIS hotspot products has been carried out since the 2007 forest fire s...

NASA plans to launch the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on the polar orbiting Earth Observation System (EOS) for morning and evening global observations in 1998 and afternoon and night observations in 2000. These 4 MODIS daily fire observations will advance global fire monitoring with special 1 km resolution fire channels at 4 μm and 11 μm, with high saturation at 500K an...
